The internet is full of great sources for fabrics, notions, and patterns.

Where are your favorite online places to shop?

For cottons pinkchalkfabrics.com and banberryplace.com are also good places to shop and fashionfabrics.com has good bargains. Thanks everybody for your suggestions. I'll have to give some of these a try. It's great that there are still quite a few places to shop online for fabric now that there are so few of the traditional bricks and mortar stores left offering quality fabric.

SEWNYA writes: It is so nice to find other sites that you are all using. I also like Sawyerbrooks and have found some great deals at Newtoto for smaller pieces of deco fabrics. They are so generous with their sample policy. Denver Fabrics are also a great site, but they will only send 5 samples at one time. I find that a bit of a draw back when I am trying to find the perfect color. WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT THE INTERNET now that the local/chain stores are moving to more crafts, mid-line quilt fabrics, fleeces and very little good fashion fabrics?

sewingcoup writes: I make numerous CUSTOM made SILK wedding gowns each year. My ABSOLUTE favorite "Online Fabric Shopping Destination" is thaisilks.com they are TERRIFIC, Professional and INEXPENSIVE to deal with. Silk is less expensive when it is shipped to Canada ... than it is for my brides to purchase polyester here in Canada.

For home decor/upholstery I always check out ebay first as you can often get multiple yardage even for larger projects at incredible discounts, I look for power sellers w/ proven ratings who don't skimp on pics or details & should I have a ? are prompt w/ a reply back. Some will even send samples free or for a small fee. One of my favorite sellers is PieceandJoy they always have great deals on superior quality often to the trade only fabrics usually multiple yd auctions & can accommodate in most cases should you need more or even less of fabric.

Two I don't think mentioned were gorgeousfabrics.com which has some pretty and unusual fabrics, and NYfashioncenter.com which offers a wide variety and colors of silk fabric.
