I turned this blank journal made from a repurposed vintage cookbook into our very own family cookbook for Mothers Day!
Of course I had to include my favorite recipes for button cupcakes and lavender shortbread cookies!
My birthday cupcake and button shortbread recipe pages have all my notes on when we celebrated and what little changes I made to each recipe!

5. Add handwritten notes to recipes you have special ties to, or tips for substitutions or variations. Leave blank pages for adding new recipes later.

family cookbook   I added notes to my favorite cupcake and shortbread cookie recipes, mentioning substitutions and special extras.

6. Surprise your lucky recipient with his or her new cookbook! Maybe a set of handmade or embellished pot holders or a handsewn apron would be a nice gift to go with it.

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

I like this idea because my mom an me have an experimental meal of the week on Sundays. now whenever we make a meal together we can put it in the book almost like a food journal...thanks!

Many brides choose to have their wedding ceremony and even the wedding reception on the beach. A romantic destination, can be a great idea for the perfect wedding, a casual yet elegant wedding on the beach. So it’s not unusual for a couple to fly out to a tropical island paradise and recite their vows among the sand and surf with a stunning beach sunset as the background. So if you’ve consider having your wedding on the beach, you’ll also have to consider a beach wedding dress as your wedding dress.
Beach wedding dresses are considered less formal that the traditional ones, with full formal skirts and poufy headpieces. If you’re choosing a , it doesn’t mean that you won’t look classy or elegant. But you should be careful when you’re choosing the design so you can avoid being over the top.

liudadovy writes: Here is what I love about this idea: handwritten recipes and notes on he edges.
I made a book like this for my sister,(years ago) and when she died I took it back- she had continued writing recipes in it, and adding some cut out ones from magazines.
It is her handwriting that jumps at me from the page, and ten years later I still feel her presence when I read the recipes written in her hand.

JenniferStern writes: Susan, that's a great idea...I've been jotting notes in the margins of my favorite recipe books for years. They become like a journal, I record dates, time and reactions from family members + adjustments to make them better next time!
