Try embellishing these lacy hairpins with beads or sequins.
If you are using small seed beads, use a beading needle to sew on your embellishments.
You can cut apart doilies, lace, or even an old crochet tablecloth to make your lace hairpins.

3. When the lace motifs are totally dry, it's time to embellish them. Thread a needle with thread and knot. The thread can match the lace or contrast; it's your choice. Sew sequins or beads to the lace and knot on the back to secure.

To sew on the bobby pin, sew just the bottom part of it to the lace motif, bringing the thread through the bobby pin each time.

4. Sew a bobby pin to the back of the lace motif and knot. To make sure that bobby pin really stays put, brush a tiny bit of fabric stiffener on the thread that you used to sew the bobby pin to the lace. Allow to dry.
