My Hubby and I and our first puppy, Johnny, on our HUGE wedding cake for the reception, four months after we eloped in Vegas.

My friends got married and asked if I would make them a topper with their dogs :)  It should be a new trend :)

http://www.craftstylish.com/item/47412/how-to-make-a-clothespin-cake-topper - I saw this post and got inspired to share how else to make your wedding more affordable and more personal!  When I got married, the last thing I wanted was a normal ol' topper for my wedding cake!  So I went down to my local craft store and bought some sculpey.  I sat in front of the tv and squished it around for a while until it started looking like a person...lo and behold!  I made a mini me to put in a mini martini glass and had a mini hubby and a mini puppy!  It is so great to have something personal incorporated into your wedding cake...sure, you can pay that guy on food network to make your cake - but those cost thousands of dollars.  If you're on a budget like we were, personal touches make all the difference!
