How to Make a Butterfly Mobile
comments (8) March 24th, 20116. Now start tying the strands to the embroidery hoop. Divide the hoop into fourths, and tie the strands to the hoop accordingly. The easiest way to do this without getting the hoop all tangled is to hang the hoop as you're tying the strands on. I hung mine off a padded hanger.

Hanging the embroidery hoop off something like a clothes hanger makes it easier to tie on each strand of butterflies without them getting tangled. |
Tie the other four strands in between the four strands you just tied on.
7. To hang, cut a piece of string and tie it to either side of the hoop. Hang from the ceiling, a tree branch, or a clothesline.
Just a quick note: Since I won't be posting weekly anymore, I wanted to take a moment to say something. I am really going to miss this wonderful community that we have all helped to create, but I'll be around from time to time. If you really miss me, I will still be blogging over at my personal site thisisloveforever.com and selling from time to time on my Etsy shop. Check out my book Appliqué Your Way with Chronicle Books.
