This circle lace pattern is a fun way to play with lace knitting.
The pattern is an adaptation of catherine wheels lace.
Choose a fun pair of buttons to add a special touch to your cuff!

I adapted this lace pattern from the catherine wheels pattern in the book Field Guide to Knitting by Jackie Pawlowski. I changed the base to garter stitch to prevent curling and made up an easy lace pattern for the straps.

Pattern:
Cast on 2 sts.
k 1 row.
k1, yo, k1.
k 1 row.
k2, yo, k1.
Strap row: k1, k2tog, yo, k1.
Repeat strap row until strap measures about 3 inches.
Cast on 13 more sts (so there are 17 total) by knitting on.

This is how your work should look now, after knitting on.

Knit 2 [6, 10] rows.
k7, p3, k7.
k7, sl3, yf, pass same 3 sts back to left-hand needle, yb, k3 slipped sts, k7.

This is how it should look after bringing the yarn back, before knitting the slipped stitches.

k7, p3, k7.
k5, k3tog, yo, kfbf, yo, sssk, k5.
k5, p7, k5.
k3, k3tog, yo, k2tog, yo, kfbf, yo, skp, yo, sssk, k3.
k3, p11, k3.
k2, (k2tog, yo) 3 times, k1 tbl, (yo, skp) 3 times, k2.
k2, p13, k2.
k3, (yo, k2tog) twice, yo, sk2p, (yo, skp) twice, yo, k3.
k2, p13, k2.
k2, (skp, yo) 3 times, k1 tbl, (yo, k2tog) 3 times, k2.
k2, p13, k2.
