I love cutting up fabric and sewing it back together! I wrote about this “twisted” technique in issue # 138 (Aug./Sept. 2008) of Threads Magazine.

Craftstylish.com has been part of my life for the past year or so. Sometimes stressful – trying to meet those deadlines and come up with worthwhile projects when the creative juices weren’t exactly flowing – but, always rewarding to know that so many of you are devoted to making things. Is there anything more satisfying than creating something with your own hands? To pick up something you’ve made and bask in its success, either quietly or blasting it to the world?

Sewing has been a part of my life since I was a child and I’ve been fortunate to have it evolve into a career, which began when I worked part time in a fabric store. That led to a job as an independent rep for a fabric line. Then I started a custom sewing business specializing in bridal. I was an associate editor for Threads Magazine and now am a contributing editor with Threads and a national teacher.

I will be posting monthly to threadsmagazine.com and you can check out my website as well. Or send an email to [email protected]. This summer I’ll be teaching at The American Sewing Guild conference in Albuquerque, NM and in the fall at The American Sewing Expo in Novi, Michigan and the Original Sewing and Quilt Expos. If you’re in the area, I’ll be doing a couple of trunk shows on Saturday, June 6 at Waechters Fine Fabrics in Asheville, NC and teaching there later in July.

Thank you all for your input and comments to my posts on craftstylish.com. My goal is to inspire.

So keep on crafting and having fun with fabric!
