Floating gem necklace with Lavaliere in Amethyst and Sterling

Floating gem necklace with Lavaliere in Amethyst and Sterling

The french word, Lavaliere, is a pendant or drop with a stone in the center. I haven't heard this term used since I was a child in my mother's antique shop. I came across it recently when I was researching the difference between a finding and a component. I thought I'd bring it back to life! If you'd like to read about the definition between findings and components, it's been posted on Bay Area Beaders http://tiny.cc/IaSvo
