LittleRachel writes: My goodness! This contest has been a total ego boost for me. And I LOVE reading about all of the projects on this site! I was actually believing that the home seamstress was a dying breed! To be honest, I really don't spend a lot of time on the computer chit chatting with people. I do have a face book page for family and friends but I would love to chit chat with you guys more...especially to learn more about the Wild Ginger software!! And to pick everyone's brain. Mine is available for picking as well! :) If anyone is wishing to chit chat, my email is olivejuice@bellsouth.net or you can reach my face book page under that email!.... I am sure sooner or later this page of the website will be no more! And, like Gertie T and AthenaWeaves...I am ready for the next challenge! :)

gferris writes: I too would like to congratulate the winner. Your dress is very lovely - it was hard to choose though, as all three dresses were very nice!

I have had the Wild Ginger software for years, and you will love it. I have the Boutique program for women, and Child's Play for children (my home-based business is children's apparel and accessories). I also have Wild Things, which is a free accessories program anyone can download if you go to www.wildginger.com. It generates simple patterns for bags, hats, etc and gives you a little sample of how easy the programs are to use.

Gertie T., by all means get the program as soon as you are able to afford it - I am so impressed by your workmanship on your dress for the short period of time you've been sewing garments! I think you would do fabulous things with the program. I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have about the program, as a long-time user (you too, LittleRachel and AthenaWaves!)

PinkParisian writes: Congratulations! What a pretty and so intoxicatingly femminine dress. The butterflies are very cute. I too love the scalloped gem which is such a compliment to the scalloped bodice. It is just drop dead pretty!! I want that dress! You have a wonderful artistic eye for fashion. Good luck to you.

NitaDee writes: Congratulations, LittleRachel!! The Buterfly Garden dress you submitted for the contest is awesome. I am partial to butterflies but the pattern and the scallops at the hem really made the dress. I can't wait to see what you do with the Wild Ginger Software.

GertieT writes: Congrats, LittleRachel! You'll have to keep us updated on your experiences with Wild Ginger. I'm definitely going to spring for it myself one of these days! It was fun being a finalist with you and AthenaWeaves. You are both such talented seamstresses. I agree that we should swap ideas!

And yes to more contests!!!

LittleRachel writes: Thank you so much! It has been so much fun...nerve racking but great! I stumbled on this contest when I picked up my first copy of Threads Magazine. It had an article comparing 3 of the pattern drafting software suites. When I looked online to learn more about Wild Ginger, I learned about the contest! Until now, I have just been reading about it and drooling! I am so excited to get a chance to really jump into it!! I have also had quite a few people ask me if I would consider making dresses professionally...Hmm...you never know where this contest will lead me! Thanks again!

By the way...I have enjoyed playing on this website. My only recommendation would be to have a way to contact other members with a chat or a mail system. I think AthenaWeaves and Gertie T and I would all really hit it off. I could learn so much from them! :)

AthenaWeaves writes: Congratulations to you Little Rachel! Your dress is absolutely lovely. Here’s to you and Gertie T for keeping my needles sharp in some really stiff competition. I am honored to have been a finalist with two such talented ladies. I can’t WAIT until the next contest. Ladies start your sewing machines. With affection to all Athena Weaves.
