I created this quilt by layering sheer organza, silk, tulle and netting to create many of the leaves and butterflies. Some of the layered work was done directly to the background and some was added along with cotton prints as an applique. Decorative threads in various colors add a little more interest to the surface. I free-style quilted the background adding a continuation of leaves and butterflies in stitches!
