I was wanting to make a tote for my Mother when I saw this table runner.  I had in mind something softly tactile, washable, substantial, and cheery -- and this was just the thing.  Because  of Mom's limited mobility, I thought using the folded-in triangle ends for snap closure tabs would be handy for her to fill and drape over a walker.  I'm fairly new at sewing, and this was a fun and basic project.
