Now's the time of year when everyone begins replenishing their wardrobes. I absolutely love all of the lush and cozy fabrics that start turning up in the fabric stores for autumn. Their rich shades and fabulous textures always inspire me to start a fresh project.

Whether you're heading back to school, sewing for someone who is, or just starting a new project, share what new projects you're working on to get ready for fall.

joyjoy77 writes: Lots of knits, actually that is all I seem to sew now. Two pencil skirts, two dresses, and one bag for work. Then I get to start the honeymoon wardrobe.

clafaver writes: I am sewing lots of plaid pleated skirts and little menswear ties for my tween. She also has a passion for long skinny silk scarves so having a serger helps me a bunch! She looks so cute everyday!

_nikki_ writes: This month I've made nothing but gifts! I have grand plans though to start my fall coat after Labor Day. I got inspired by one of the patterns we did with Pattern Review for Threads, and I can't wait to start it, complete with a wool interlining!

jansquires writes: Since losing 50#, I am enjoying sewing for myself. Just finished Louise Cutting/Linda Lee's Nine Lives jacket with Eleven/Eleven skirt with beautiful linen fabric. Tan with black foilage and complimenting tan w/black stripe.

Also, have made all of the tops in Linda Lee's Mix It Up pattern. Great pattern for fall shirts made of shirting and linen for the Fl weather.

This is for the Victorian Festival of Dance and Costume being held in Canberra during the first weekend in October 2009.

lalarose writes: I'm stumped as to what to sew for fall. I now have my Lenexa, Kansas townhome on the market in hopes of moving to Florida to be closer to my son and his family (2 grandkids and one on the way)I'm thinking about continuing on with the summer sewing as it stays fairly warm in Palm Beach Florida most of the year. Any suggestions?

emmyjay writes: I've pulled a lot of darker toned knits out of my stash to do some transitional pieces -- hoping to be able to wear them until the snow flies -- and I've got my eye on some of the stash corduroy as well. (Nothing says fall to me like corduroy!)

BusyHands writes: My five year old son is going to Grade One ( or First Grade for you Americans) so I'm sewing him some pants with extra reinforced knee patches. This spring he put his knee through FIVE pairs of pants in one week!
As long as the pants are are roughly the same colour, I won't have to change the serger threads :-)
