Locker Hooking seat cover
comments (1) March 12th, 2011 in galleryThis is a very old art that my grandmother used to do in the 1930s. I doubt they called it locker hooking and I believe they did this on canvas not latch hook mesh as this is! I used 1" strips of fabric and and crochet hook with a huge eye of a need on the opposit end that is strung with string. You crochet thru the mesh with fabric strip from back, then when you have several loops on the crochet hook you pull that string thru the loops to keep the loops from going down thru the mesh! (It locks the loops) It's beautiful. I'm sorry the close up didn't upload here bececause you can't appreciate the beauty of this! This goes fast and is a speedy gratification! Look up Locker Hooking for more detailed instructions! I love doing it! Relaxing and moves fast! (But you'd NEVER know it from the finished project!) I like things that look complicated, expensive, classy in an old sort of way, cheap to do, and fast moving! Any suggestions for me? Always looking for the next project! This is my new favorite site!
