Slighty Flared Wrap Dress
comments (2) August 31st, 2009 in galleryMy inspiration for this dress was looking into past styles in fashion. It's amazing how a certain style of garment can remain timeless. Ever since Diane Von Furstenberg introduced the wrap dress in the early 1970's, it still being worn by women today. Given its versatility the wrap dress has been flexible for work or going out attire.
The Pattern i chose is a McCall's M5179(Now out of print). The fabric that was chosen was a suiting fabric and a "silkessence" fabric that was used for the lining. The colors in the fabric are a blend of pinks, greys and black. The bodice and side ties of the dress are lined, even though the pattern did not call for any other part of the dress to be lined except for the side ties. I felt that since the fabric was a little heavier it need for more support especially for the skirt portion of the dress.
