Two Piece Satin and Lace Gown
September 17th, 2009 in sewing, other crafts, fashion, restyle, galleryMy inspriration for this piece was the Oscars, recently i happened to be going through my fashion magazines from a couple years ago. They were showing fashions from the Oscars and noticed a gown by designer Angel Sanchez worn by actress Sandra Bullock at the 2006 Oscars. I admired the texture and fullness of the skirt part of the dress.
My version is quite different, First of all its not strapless, its two piece, the skirt part is somewhat full but gathered. The pattern that i used was a Vogue pattern( 9246 out of print) The fabric was a purple satin, black windsor lace for the center of bodice, lace trim for the bottom of bodice and black textured button for the lower center of top and for back of top. This gown would be ideal for a fall wedding.
