My Little Black Dress
My Little Black Dress - back view (that is not the zipper youre looking at, those are pins, I did a hand-picked treatment on it, and unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the finished back AFTER the zipper.) But I really wanted to show you the back view of this dress.  I just Love it!

This dress was created without a pattern.  I studied the runway video, pulled snapshots from it, then draped a muslin on my dressform.  I then used that muslin as my pattern to create this dress, complete with the hidden pockets.

JoWilliams writes: Yes!! I get your meaning!! I've done the side zipper also. I really prefer the invisible zipper but I didn't have one and unfortunately I've moved back to my home town who only has Walmart...... so ya do what ya gotta do!!! But I always experiment with new techniques, which is why I did the pick-stitch zipper. Amazingly it didn't take as long as I thought and wasn't too bad (and I HATE hand work!) thanks for all of your comments!

MessyONE writes: Terrific dress! It's going to look amazing on. I've always found the best way to make a zipper REALLY invisible is to put it under the arm of the dress. Bonus to doing it that way - you don't need help getting in and out of it. Unless you WANT to have to have someone to help.....If you get my meaning. ;-)
