I found this cotton, navy eyelet at Stone Mountain and Daughter in Berkeley and immediately knew that this would become My Dress!  I liked the idea of it being cotton. This would make it more versatile for my lifesyle.
This is my inspiration designed by Adianna Papell.
This is the back with a similar V, invisible zipper and walking vent. The main part of the dress is lined in silk lining and the bodice in silk organza.
The coat is made of 100% linen also from Stone Mountain and Daughter and the buttons are from Britex in San Francisco.
Even though the dress and coat are navy the lining on the coat has a splash of color!

I wanted to create a little "black dress" but I didn't want it in black.  I've always like navy and I've been working on adding more of it to my wardrope.  I saw the black dress by Adrianna Papell in a magazine over a year ago and really liked the lace bodice.  After finding the fabric I wanted, I used several patterns and some draping to create My Little Navy Dress.  The dress coat is my version of Michelle Obama's Inauguration outfit.  This outfit will take me many places and at any time of year.
