Navy Blue Bias Cut Asymmetrical Dress
September 17th, 2009 in sewing, fashion, galleryMy inspiration for this dress was Prada's asymmetical dress in her Spring 2009 ready-to-wear collection with a bow like thing on one shoulder.
I wanted to try this also, and also cutting a dress on bias. I draped the dress fabric directly onto my dress form, and formed thw bow by gathering a bunch of fabric and securing it. Another hand sewn dress!
The side seams are sewn with backstitches, and I did some top stitching on the side for decoration. I used the invisible hem herringbone stitch to secure the hem.
