Girl's Halter Smocked Dress
comments (0) September 22nd, 2009 in galleryI was inspired by fabric/pattern designer & author Heather Ross to make my first smocked dress using elastic thread. I've never used elastic thread so this was one of my first dresses I made ( using this technique ) for my God-Daughter. I stitched about 17 rows, spaced about 1/2 inch apart, then made some skinny halter straps. It's a simple, yet classic dress that any child or woman can wear. I didn't use a pattern, however I used the inspiration photo to improvise.
