My Red and blue fun dress
comments (0) September 23rd, 2009 in galleryI enjoy looking at paintings, and saw this painting online. It gave me the idea to look for a red or blue fabric with flowers. Luckily for me, I found 2 yards of the fabric I used and decided to play with the neckline. Its a U within a U neckline. Its fully lined and the bodice is princess seams. For the bottom part I did 1/2 inch pleats with my hands, held with pins before holding together to form little gathers. I then sewed the flounce to the skirt part of my dress. I usually, create my patterns from scratch. I measured myself, applied my design and measurments on papre first before cutting my fabric. I will wear this with a solid jacket or sweater and boots this fall.
