Shirt Coat
September 23rd, 2009 in sewing, fashion, galleryThe shape of the shirt coat from Isabella Oliver inspired my wearable version of couture. I drafted flares into the front and back of my pattern in order to mimic the shape and added a shirt-like collar. I made it a little shorter so it could be worn more like a jacket and fully lined it with fashion fabric so it is reversible. The lace detail is hand applied with a blanket stitch and I added bound button holes. I drafted the entire pattern.
