When I started making designer clipboards I wanted to do something different than others I saw on etsy that covered the whole board and put lots of little ribbons at the top.  I also wanted to use regular standard clipboards versus ordering in a bunch of special order ones.  So I came up with a way to make my clipboards unique and easier to make.  This clipboard was made from 4 pieces of scrapbook paper on the front and 2 on the back.  I paint the edges of the clipboard with regular craft paint and then use a regular paintbrush with bristles dipped in watered down white paint.  Then I just lightly flick the brush across the painted edges to distress them.  I hated trying to line up paper to the exact edge of a clipboard so this way is easier.  I glue all my papers down on a sheet of 8" x 14" paper rather than the clipboard so I have more control.  Then I cut the 8 1/2" x 14" paper to 8 1/8" x 11 1/4 (front) and 8 1/8" x 12" on the back.  Then I type the personalization on my computer and print it out on clear self adhesive labels.

I modge podge the paper down to the clipboard.  Be sure to put plenty of modge podge on the clipboard and the paper and then carefully smooth out all bubbles. I then put a coat of modge podge on top.

The tulle and ribbon are just tied together with a knot and then glued with regular craft glue to the clip.  You will need to sit a heavy book on top until it dries.

These are great gifts for teachers, friends, etc.  I also design many of my own papers on photoshop (see my website) but I do use some scrapbook papers also.
