Use Embroidery Software to Speed up the Processcomments (1) August 16th, 2008
Using the on-screen editing features on your embroidery machine is very time consuming. Combining designs in software on your computer is much faster, so you can get to the fun stuff much more quickly. (I don’t know many embroiderers who even have enough time for the fun stuff!) This is especially true if you are an embroidery newbie who purchased an entry-level embroidery machine that doesn’t have a lot of built-in editing capabilities. After spending too much time trying to edit your designs on your machine, you’ll realize that it’s not even possible to do what you were trying to do…and nobody has time for that! I like to think of inexpensive customizing software programs as the key to making your entry-level machine capable of top-of-the-line feats of embroidery—at a fraction of the time and frustration.
If you knew me 5 years ago, you would be shocked to hear that I LOVE embroidery software. 5 years ago I didn’t even own a computer, and now that I have one, I’m not the best a maintaining it. I do have a very helpful computer guy. But I can understand why so many of my customers who buy embroidery software never even open the box to peek inside.
If you’re new to embroidery, I recommend starting with customizing software--whether you buy one that specifically goes with your brand of machine or try a generic company like BuzzTools or Dakota, they are all windows based and easy to figure out. You can quickly and easily combine designs together into one embroidery or personalize your embroidery by adding lettering.
Simply open an embroidery motif. Then you can, copy/paste multiples of it, rotate, mirror image, or even combine it with other designs. Once you get the arrangement that you are looking simply save it and load it onto your embroidery machine. Then all you have to do is press the start button and you’re off!
If you’re not sure where to start you can visit Free Embroidery Stuff. There are plenty of free trials downloads for you to take advantage of. They even help you figure out which program is best for your needs!
