Pink and White Cottage Chic Lavender Sachet Decorative Pillow - Hanger Sachet - Storage Bag
October 31st, 2009 in sewing, restyle, gifts, home decorating, galleryThis lovely vintage linen tea towel with the prettiest embroidered flowers in a tatted basket, has been recreated into this darling pillow cover. It's trimmed with 3" lace on each end making it so dainty. Pink satin ribbon has been sewn along each end, then ties in bows for closure. A small velcro strip has been placed in the center under the the envelope like flap to secure.
Inside you'll find a hand made pillow from vintage fabric filled with hypo- allergenic down like fiberfil for cushy softness, and machine washing and drying makes it softer. Placed inside the pillow is a pouched filled with highly scented french lavender buds. An occasional squeeze to bruise the buds will refreshen the scent which last for a very very long time, even years.
The cool part of this little cottage cutie is that you have options to use this in several ways.
First, it makes a beautiful decorative pillow for you or your little girls bed which is wonderful for freshening your bed linens and for relaxation.
Second, you can untie the flap and wrap the flap over a hanger, then resecure the ties to hang in your closet for scenting and keeping out those pesty cloth eating bugs.
Third, you can also lay in a drawer for scenting.
Fourth, you can remove the pillow insert, and use it as a storage bag for intimates, pantyhose, jewelry, or keepsake treasures, or any other way you might find to use it.
Fifth, this can also be the perfect gift for someone special.
A wonderful litte creation showing that vintage can be useful and beautiful again.
Measures: 19 1/4"W x 7 1/2"H when closed.
