Egg gourds are decorated in multiple layers and finished with 24 kt Gold seed beads, a focal bead and hand strung seed bead fringe with various glass beads. These can either be used for Christmas decorations or hung from your dining room chandelier for year-round pleasure!

These gourds are decorated using a wax-resist batik method called Pysanka. Wax is applied to the egg with a Stylus and bees wax heated over a flame, and then I dye it with leather dye. After the dye is dried I heat the egg to remove the wax revealing the resist or non-dyed area. I then apply pearl-ex, and spray with Krylon UV-resistant Clear Gloss Acrylic Coating to seal.
