Vintage tablecloth fabric tote bag
comments (0) November 29th, 2009 in galleryAs long as you do your part to free the world from plastic waste, why not do it with style? Retro Revival has scoured flea markets, antique and thrift stores, and estate sales to find the most beautiful vintage tablecloths and fabrics that we’ve repurposed into reusable bags that you can use to tote books, groceries, beach necessities or any manner of things.
These 16” by 14” totes are carefully hand sewn and include fusable interfacing between the lining and the vintage fabric to provide a bit of firmness. Coordinating fabric lining is new (not vintage) and all fabrics have been pre-washed to prevent shrinkage. The totes are machine washable (gentle cycle, please) and should be air dried so that they’ll last for years.
We’ve tested the totes with many trips to the grocery, beach and around town and they easily hold weight comparable to a plastic grocery bag (milk, cereal, etc.) because of the double stitched seams. They fold easily and neatly into a smaller size so that you can fit them into your pocket or purse.
Tooling around town, strolling down shop aisles or lugging groceries to your car, you’ll surely be stopped and complimented on your chic, retro tote!
