Corn Husk Nativity
comments (0) December 16th, 2009 in galleryMy corn husk nativity is handmade with natural, bleached corn husks. Six pieces include Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and the three kings. Each standing figure measures about 9" in height. Mary is kneeling and is about 6" tall. Several steps were taken to create each piece, including forming the shape while the husks are wet, pinning the pieces together, allowing them to dry and then finally gluing the pieces and adding the interior husks to create stability. The king's beards are made of wool roving. The baby lies on a bed of excelsior.
