Ceramic Winter Roses Vase Set
comments (3) January 31st, 2010 in galleryThese are my first handmade and hand painted vases. Each vase, vine, flower, and leaf was hand built from white earthenware clay which was fired to 1800 degrees. Then they were hand painted with pale blue and green underglaze and fired again. Finally, a thin coat of clear glaze was added and they went though a final round in the kiln. They took 2 days to hand build and then a total of 24 hours in the kiln.
The small vase is 4" high and the large vase is 5" high. Each are 2" in diameter.
