Fabric fairy
comments (1) February 4th, 2010 in galleryBlue Fairy from my fabric fairies numbered collection. It is made from fabric, felt, sequins and the face is hand painted. This is fairy number 5.
I designed my own pattern inspiring myself on three different things: a lampshade I own, J. R. R. Tolkien's elfes and my interpretation of Fairy Peribanou and her maidens, from a story by Pearl S. Buck (she makes no specific description of them, so I was able to design my own). The fairy worl she has created in that story is magical to me. I hope you find my fairies magic as well.
Some parts of the fairies are machine sewn, other are handstitches. All detail work is done by hand. The face is handpainted.
Pattern or design used: My own design - Midsummer Night's Stitches
