Crocheted Vest
comments (0) February 8th, 2010 in galleryWhen i outgrew this antique crocheted vest that was a family heirloom, I decided to revive it for several more years (with family approval ;> ). I cut it open down the front, bound the edges in a print fabric with ruffles of tulle, cut out large elements of the pattern to use as appliques on back and front. I then sewed fancy fibers, strings of beads, and other trims around some of the abstract floral shapes. Added individual beads and small washers for emphasis and painted further embellishement. The end result is a gorgeous unique vest, which is very wearable (and now fits me!).
