Tote-ally Crafty Bag
July 26th, 2008 in sewing, restyle, galleryECO-CHIC: I found these two placemats at the thrift store for $1.00 and fell in love with the design. The handles are repurposed from another thrift store find and the ribbons are actually vintage seam bindings dontated to my sewing room from a friend's mother's estate. It is my own design.
This is a great idea to make use of thrift store or rummage sale items. It was easy, quick to do and will be a great and showy shopping bag. I didn't have to line the bag because the place mats were two sided and finished nicely. Next time I may think about adding a cell phone pocket before I stitch it together.
