I decided to redo my son's room once he grew beyond baby-dom. He's all boy and we decided to do a car themed room. After shopping around for accesories and such, I became completely discouraged at the prices of themed shelving. So I decided to redo his bookshelf rather than pay a small fortune for another one. This wall shelving unit was originally all white with starts and moons cut out in the backboard. I first unscrewed the back board and roughed up the glossy finish. Next, I spent HOURS clipping out small of pictures of cars and trucks from magazines, newspaper ads, and junk mail. Then I simply used a little school glue to paste them in a pleasing collage design. Finally, I Mod Podged the whole thing in a glossy finish and reattached the backboard to the frame. I literally spent no money on this refurbish. But, I never want to cut out another picture of a car again!
