White Eyelet Pillowcase Dress and Pantaloons
comments (0) March 10th, 2010 in galleryOne of our customers wanted a dress for her little girl to be baptised in but also something she could wear after even to the beach. She liked our pillowcase dress style and our pantaloons. She wanted it all in white, with a ruffle on the hem of the dress. She also wanted something with a scallopy design for the hemline. I had this eyelet fabric I had purchase a few years ago with the ideas of making a pillowcase dress and pantaloons with it, just never got around to it. I told her I thought I had the perfect idea and that I would make it up and send her the pics to see if this was the idea she saw in her mind as she knew what she wanted, she just couldn't find it. I had to cut the bottom of the fabric and then gather it to give it the ruffle look for the hem of the dress. I also lined it with a white batiste as the fabric was hankerchief thin fabric. I had in my stash of ribbon a beautiful satin fancy ribbon with picot edging which was perfect for the Christening. Pictures don't show this but I also added ribbon bows on the pantaloons legs. This was just what she was looking for and she loved it. It really did turn out beautiful, better than what I even expected.
