Nanjing figured satin is a traditional jacquard silk handicraft, is the first of Nanjing crafts' "Triratna". It has as many as 18 kinds of colors, used "color halo" to show the layers of main flowers. It's splendid and elegant, the texture is firm, the patterns are vigorous and beautiful, the color is rich and solemn, used lots of gold thread to form a special magnificent style. As the special materials, fine weave, elegant and splendid color patterns, Nanjing figured satin like the colorful clouds in the sky, so called "Cloud Brocade". Only Nanjing produces it recently, so it referred to "Nanjing figured satin". It has 1580 years history. Nanjing figured satin, Chengdu Shu Brocade, Suzhou Song Brocade and Guangxi Zhuang Brocade are so called "Chinese 4 Famous Brocade" (with Suzhou Kesi as the "two Famous Brocade").
