my paying job is designing and selling t-shirts for my company called bigcountry (www.bigcountrytees.com). occasionally, we get a shirt that has some flaws, or a printing mistake, etc. i HATE waste...so, i saw this challenge and finally decided to do something with those t-shirts..i made a cute little tote!. basically, i cut the sleeves and neck off, shortened the bottom of the shirt..sewed the bottom together--i added extra t-shirt material as a "bias tape" for additional strength. folded back the neck and sleeves and zigzagged them (the zigzig and foldback was for additional sturdiness-plus it's cute) then with leftover t-shirt fabric and some felt flowers and vintage buttons, i made a removable pin/brooch--(removable so you can toss the bag in the machine to wash). i think it turned out pretty fancy, don't you?

i posted this with the contest badge at www.pinkpresent.blogspot.com
