Animalistic is a fun and easy scarf or shawl knit with Elann’s Canapone hemp yarn.

The texture in the hemp and the openness of the pattern helps to create an interesting pattern that reminds me of the jungle and big cats.

The scarf is knit lengthwise in one piece and can be made wider by increasing the number of repeats of the center pattern.

The pattern creates a fun open look that will be a terrific shawl or scarf for the warmer seasons and into the fall. Knit on medium sized needles, the scarf is a quick knit and would make a perfect gift.

Abbreviations:
K—knit
sl2 k psso— slip 2 stitches onto right needle, knit next stitch then slip the 2 slipped stitches over the knitted stitch
P2tog—purl two stitches together
Yo—Yarn over (increase)
M (m1-written)-Make one by lifting strand in between stitch just worked and the next stitch, knit into back of this thread.

Materials Needed:
Size 8 (5.0 mm) Straight Needles
Darning needle
1 ball of Elann Canapone hemp yarn 180 yards for small scarf or 3 balls for wider shawl
