How to Re-Fashion a Broken Bangle
comments (0) April 8th, 2010Have you ever felt sad throwing away your favorite bangle just because it’s broken? Or it lost its charm/sheen and was forced to give up?? Well I did and after quite a long time I came up with this idea...
First glue up the broken bangle to fix it to use again…
Next follow these simple steps to turn it into a gorgeous bangle…
Materials
- Bangle (I have used a wooden one that too broken, but anything would do and need not be broken too :) )
- Fancy Thread / Embroidery Silk Thread
- Some fancy kundans / sequins (kundans - Stones or crystals for use in embroidery, available in many colors)
- Glue
- Scissors (to trim of the extra thread ends)
How to –
- On the inner side of the bangle, stick one end of the thread with the glue.
- With one end glued up, start winding the bangle with the thread.
- Wrap it tightly all the way long till the end.
- Glued it down at the end again.
And there you are ready to wear it :)
Why to use a thread?? –
-
- Well it covers up the bangle pretty well and comes in variety of colors and shades. Picking up the exact shade to match to any dress would be easy than hunting for a fabric to match your dress. Also its so shiny and glossy you would love wearing it.
- If you are bored, just cut up the thread and you are again ready to use a different thread to match it to some other dress…
- You can stick on kundans (Stones or crystals for use in embroidery, available in many colors) and sequins to glam it up when bored with wearing it plain for long.
If you like this, please let me know you do :)
