In fact in Ghana particular shaped coffin has appeared only 50 years. There are abundant hardwood resources in Ghana and most famous wood craftsman of Africa. Their best skill is to produce Ghana's heirlooms - the bench. It is said that a carpenter spent nearly a month to make a bench for the Presbyter. But the Presbyter died not yet seeing the bench. His family wanted to meet his wishes and requested the carpenter made a coffin instead. People saw the coffin at the funeral with strange shape and were inspired. From then on when suffering death of relatives and friends, the families would get skilled craftsmen, ask them to design particular shaped coffins according to their wishes and family's wishes. So a tradition, a folk, was born.
