Tuxedo Bucket Purse
comments (0) May 20th, 2010 in galleryPurse made out of a plastic ice cream bucket. As the interior and bottom were white and the lid rim was red it lent itself to becoming a tuxedo. I used a glue gun to attach fabric and trims then drilled holes to attach twisted cord as a strap. I used black cotton lycra, satin faced elastic for the hinges and bow, a scrap of red satin for the cummerbund, a small piece of black belt stiffener for the tab, a couple pieces of ruffled lace to mimic a ruffled/pleated shirt front and also put a couple pleats in the back. I can't wait to finish another bucket of ice cream so I can make another. I'm thinking spring/summer colors this time. I think I should win as it's a very creative way to turn something you would normally throw away into something pretty, fun and functional.
