Reconstructed Bohemian Skirt with Beaded Drawstring Waist
comments (0) June 24th, 2010 in galleryReconstructed vintage hippie-chic skirt in a Lovely and Bright Floral print of purples, blues and white.
The waistband on the skirt was so tiny, I don't think it would have worked for a 10 year old. Converted to drawstring and sewed in some nice, sturdy buttonholes. To add a little pizazz, I beaded the ends of the drawstring before knotting them.
The beads are from a vintage necklace. Six wooden beads in different shapes and in shades of brown, red and teal. Two darkened silver tone discs finish off the look.
Wear it at your waist, your hips, or somewhere in between!
Because of the drawstring and the bias cut, fits a size small to extra large.
Measures up to 44" waist
48" hips
22 3/4" long
I love this skirt!. The purples and blues are pretty and feminine, yet there's just enough Bohemian edge!!
