40s-inspired Purple Dress

Inspired by a sewing pattern from the 1940s, I created this dress from scratch, designing my own pattern for it.  I was lucky to find buttons that matched the subtle eyelet--and both came from my stash!

HeavenlyPrincess writes: Actually, I live in southern AZ and am sooo hot all summer. However, I've also got pale skin which is very prone to sunburn. so this is actually the ideal summer dress for me! The fabric is very light weight, almost sheer cotton, so it's surprisingly cool.
