One of the most frustrating aspects of hemp jewelry making is the lack of big hole beads, especially when you want to do some simple and bold designs with thick hemp. Lately I've been seeing more and more big hole gemstone beads popping up at bead shows like Bead Fest. An advantage to using big hole beads is that there is no crimping when bringing all hemp strands through the hole - that makes the piece look more cohesive as a whole.
