The inspiration for this design came from some photos my dad and sister took when they went to Africa.  They visited an orphanage and took portraits of all of the children.  Each child wore the same outfit: an orange METS shirt.  Because of the matching outfits and short hair, you couldn't even tell the girls from the boys.  One little girl in particular caught my eye--Nissa.

The mission of my business is to empower females to be feminine, so I decided to create a design that could easily be made and sent to the little girls in that African orphanage--so they can dress like princesses too.  I played around with some designs in miniature and the doll dress above was what came of it.  I am currently testing and refining the design and will publish the finished pattern sometime very soon.

The main features of this dress are the halter-top tie and elastic waist, which makes it easy to fit and easy to wear.  The pattern is very easy to put together, too, which means that even young girls can help make the dress.  My first set of testers were girls from my church who made some dresses that will be hand-delivered to Nissa and her 'sisters' this August!

Please visit my website (click "Heavenly Princess" below) to see a picture of Nissa and some more details about the dress.
