Originally designed as a Christmas ornament by Danish native, Holger Strøm in 1973, the IQ lamp has climbed in popularity. Created from 30 pieces of the same shape, it's unique design blends beautifully with many decor styles including modern, French country, or shabby chic. This variation on the design slightly changes the shape to make it curly and is popular in Mexico.
The supplies are simple: 2 large sheets of Drafting Vellum, a Hemma lamp cord from Ikea, and glue dots (like used for scrapbooking, optional.) You can make a lamp shade for around $4.20 if you have a couple of coupons, but the effect on your decor is priceless :).
