Convertible Dress Attempt One
comments (4) August 3rd, 2008 in galleryI saw the Convertible Dress tutorial and had to try it! I pulled out some stretchy fabric my neighbor gave me when she cleaned out her sewing room. It has stripes on one side, and is white on the other side so it isn't ideal for this project... But I always like making a test version to get out any bugs. The pictures show one way to wear the dress. I tried it with a pixie-skirt instead of a regular circle skirt just to see how it would work out (and because I was too lazy to cut the test skirt into a circle.) Soon I will be making another one with the goldenrod yellow cotton jersey I have had hanging around my sewing room.
As for the tutorial that it is linked to, the pattern is great but the instructions are a little bit confusing. For a fabric with no right or wrong sides it would be fine, but it definitely takes some pinning and re-pinning to decipher the instructions.
