DIY Embroidery Hoop Corkboard
August 4th, 2008 in other crafts, restyle, embroidery, home decoratingI came across this great DIY Embroidery Hoop Corkboard project that is really quick to make. Check out the easy-to-follow tutorial from CasaSugar and rescue a treasured piece of fabric from your stash! All you need is a wooden embroidery hoop, some corkboard, a piece of fabric and your tool box. This is the perfect opportunity to give your old bulletin board a facelift by recycling the cork--mine has fade spots from being in the sun too long and it's not very attractive anymore--I know where my cork will come from!
If you don't have an embroidery hoop hanging around, you can pick one up at any craft store...I was surprised at range of sizes and shapes that are available--oval could be really cool! Try crisscrossing some thin ribbon across the right side of the fabric before you secure it over the corkboard with the hoop. Then you can tuck your photos behind the ribbon to display them on your corkboard without using push pins!
