Enter the SewStylish Jacket Challenge
comments (4) September 21st, 2010In the Fall 2010 issue of SewStylish, we showed you several techniques to use to create the perfect jacket including tailoring the perfect hem, sewing a professional-looking lapel, and even getting the fit right for your body.
Now, we want to see those skills put to use in our first SewStylish Jacket Challenge. To enter, simply upload a photo of a jacket you've made to the contest gallery. Your creation can be from a store-bought pattern, or one you created yourself. Be sure and tell us all about how you made the jacket, including any important details you would like to point out. We'll be judging on originality, creativity, style, and craftsmanship.
We'll chose our top 5 and then you'll vote on the winner. First place will receive a $200 gift certificate from Spoonflower (your place to create your own fabrics and find unique pieces designed by other sewers), a copy of Pattern Boutique Version 5 pattern-drafting software from Wild Ginger, and an adjustable dress form from Singer. All together, that's more than $700 in prizes! Second and third place winners will also both receive $50 gift certificates to Spoonflower.com.
Be sure and upload your designs before October 18th for a chance to win!
