Excellent suggestion to use shank buttons as purse feet. I sewed black bias tape to the edge of the pocket lining so when it was turned RSO none of the pink lining shows just a sliver of black (which serves justice to the overall look).
Gold tone accents from the zipper teeth to the grommets to the purse feet, as well as those you dont see such as rivets at the top corner of the pocket
Luxurious pink lining with pockets galore! On this side an elasiticized folio pocket with smaller pockets over top to fit everything from phone to pens (+key holder), the other side sports a zippered pocket from side to side, big enough to hold files.
The completed Designer Inspired Bag is big enough to hold a small laptop, organized with plenty of pockets and above all, its really comfy to carry! Maybe best is the squeals of delight from women who cant believe I made this beauty!

Despite the initial impresssions of complexity on making this bag the directions were surprisingly simple to follow and the bag came together beautifully. However I did stall on step 3 "Assemble the Pocket Flap". The directions talked about a flap facing and after double checking there was nothing to indicate either by pattern or measurements what the flap facing was. After a quick email to Sew Stylish, they helped me out but by that time I had preassembled everything and continued without the flap facing. There was also no mention as to the length of zipper required but again, after playing with the pieces I decided on an 18" zipper. But, after the bag was assembled the strap seemed shorter than depicted in the magazine. I think this is because my zipper was too long (the strap is attached at each end of the zip). Nonetheless, it is a comfortable carry on the shoulder & I'm pleased as punch with the bag overall.

DoubleH writes: Your bag is gorgeous! I want to try this expecially cos I love handbags, but they are so expensive! I'd rather make my own. Did you ask what length zipper to use or what would you suggest? And what about the flap facing? Back to the zipper - when it says to cut as wide as the teeth, does it actually mean to measure the teeth themselves?
