This week on Project Runway, the contestants were challenged to create a classic American sportswear look with Jacqueline Kennedy as their muse. As Heidi put it, they were to look to the past to make something for the future. Many of the designers struggled this week to make an ensemble for someone so specific that's so iconic and retro and still stay true to themselves and their own modern aesthetic. The judges were especially harsh this week, especially in criticizing Andy's design. In the end, Mondo was the clear winner, and Michael D. was sent home.

Did you agree with the judges this week? What do you think of this season so far? Let us know in the comments below.

knittingirl writes: I agree with the judges this week. Mondo was the clear winner. Funny that April and Gretchen commented when they left the runway that things didn't go the way they thought. Does it ever? Gretchen always thinks she will win. Generally I like her designs, if not her color choices, but this week I did not care for her jacket. I did like Ivy,s look. I do think however that most American women would not like a bow on their backside. It is going to be interesting to see the competition heat up as the group gets smaller. I think Gretchen, Ivy and now, apparently April have more competition then they realize. Christopher, Mondo and the too often maligned Michael C have plenty to offer as they proved this week.

DreamyDahlia writes: I think of all the attempts at interpreting Jackie O's elegance in sportswear, Mondo did come the closest. Andy couldn't have been further with those voluminous cargo pants, but I don't think he deserved the bashing the judges gave him, especially the invitation to 'come here and look for yourself'. Ivy's look was elegant but there were too many 'loose ends' in the back for it to have the clean lines that Jackie always had. Is Christopher a one dress act? We saw that exact same dress earlier in the season...go back and review his designs if you don't remember it in black. I was interested in Michael's design until I realized he was leaving the gathers on the outside and it resembled something from Little House On The Prairie. Mondo was a class act in his get up too. Oh, to be a designer and have a license to be quirky!
