De-glam an evening gown

Here is the neckline before. Even though I did not like this neckline embellishment, I did save it. Never know when you can use stuff like this!

I am ALL about making things my own. I found this dress on super clearance at Sears a little while back but hated the neckline embellishment. I'm always a fan of embroidery but with the simple line of the dress I didn't think embroidering on the dress would be very flattering. So I took off the glittery neck embellishment with a good seam ripper. Next I embroidered some flowers on water soluble stabilizer and washed the stabilizer away so they were free standing. Finally, I hand sewed them in position and look what a difference it made!
